Delphi Compiler Directives
The only 'good' use for compiler directives is as a workaround for the different os'es and different versions of Delphi and backward compatibility i would strongly suggest not to do it for anything else for logging/debugging/testing it's not good to use compiler directives this has nothing to do with different types of apps like service apps or forms apps most companies use an include file (like version.inc) to put the compiler directives in the biggest nightmare you would be having is having common units which contain ifdef's in several projects. These units would require rebuilding every time i suspect the reason the compiler directives is not working, is 1: the unit containing the directives is not used? 2: there is an undefine? 3: conflicting directives or wrongly nested directives 4: different build configuration used (release or debug).
