Hi folks- I'm sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this kind of thing. I've got a car that's been sitting in a garage with a dead battery for a few months, and so I bought a Duralast portable jump-starter to get it running again (and to keep around for battery emergencies in the future). So, I open this thing up and it looks like it might be used.
The instructions have some wear, and the switch is in the 'ON' position which I thought was strange. I plug it in for it's initial (30 hour) charge.
Peak 1200 Amp Jump Starter
The plug feels a little loose but the battery indicator on the front comes to life. It says FL%, then it goes to 99%, and drops pretty rapidly to 35% or so. Then it starts creeping up again, but it's totally erratic - up and down. It'll get to a certain percentage, then just sort of turn off. It'll turn on again by jiggling that loose plug.
